Masked Lapwing or Plover

A masked lapwing and its three eggs, deposited in a minimalist nest on a path of crushed rock. These photos were taken by the editor in Central Victoria on 28 June 2020.

The eggs are roughly the size of small chicken eggs - amazingly
big considering the size of the parent.
